In the lastest installment of Hey Harold!, the longtime HBO commentator talks about this weekend’s ‘Super Fly’ card, particularly the main event rematch between Roman Gonzalez and Srisaket Sor Rungvisai.
“September 9th we’re gonna see, in my opinion, probably the six best 115lb fighters in the world. In the main event we have ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez, he was 48-0 before he fought Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. The first fight was terrific. Gonzalez got knocked down in the first round and then I thought he clearly won the rest of the fight.
“But what happened was he was bleeding from a headbutt in the second round and his corner never really did a good job in stopping the bleeding. And in my opinion the bleeding really, really affected the scores of the judges. I though Chocolatito won the first fight but Rungvisai got the decision. You know, the judges see a guy bleeding every round and they vote for the other guy. I really believe that that’s what happened.
“The rematch is gonna be terrific. You know, when you get a fight that’s as good as Rungvisai against Chocolatito was the first time, it’s gonna be a great fight the second time. I really believe that, I think that we’re gonna see a sensational fight on September the 9th in the main event.”
