On Mayweather-McGregor as an event

“I’m happy that we gave the people what they wanted to see. It’s all about giving the fans and the people what they want to see. I told them we’d give them an action packed fight, and that’s what happened.”

On his plan against Conor McGregor

“The game plan was, we know he could fight 25 minutes. Three minutes after 25 minutes, the fight was over. That was the game plan. Doing something different, you know — when I’m in training, I’ve done it before. I know when I go out there and compete against different opponents, I can do it. And I think that I chose the right time.”

On Caleb Plant, who won tonight on Showtime

“Tonight I’m gonna give him a C, because I think that he should have knocked this guy out. He was a wounded warrior, I think he should have taken advantage of that. But he’s a hell of a boxer, though.”

On his in-ring career

“You guys have seen the last of Floyd Mayweather. I had a 21-year career. I had a great career. Every fight wasn’t exciting, but I still was able to get the job done. When it’s all said and done, Floyd Mayweather will be remembered as a winner.”

On promoting

“I’m looking for the next Floyd Mayweather. It’s not easy, because it takes a little bit of everything. Fighters nowadays think they can just be knockout punchers and strong fighters and go undefeated for six and seven, eight years, 10 years. It doesn’t work like that. It takes a lot. You have to be able to articulate well, you have to have a certain look, a certain team, make the right moves, and have the right fights.”
