This afternoon on Canada’s Super Channel and SAT.1 in Germany, Oleksandr Usyk defends the WBO cruiserweight title and kicks off the World Boxing Super Series tournaments with a first round matchup against former titleholder Marco Huck.
Live coverage for Super Channel is set to begin at 2 pm ET, with the main event expected sometime around 5.
Huck (40-4-1, 27 KO) is coming in off of a loss to Mairis Briedis, and has lost two of his last four. At 32, he looks past his prime, but he’s still a dangerous opponent, and Usyk (12-0, 10 KO) should have his work cut out for him.
Usyk, 30, is a former Olympic gold medalist for Ukraine, and has been excellent thus far as a professional, living up to the hype, winning his world title in his 10th pro fight a year ago.
We can’t promise we’ll have proper round-by-round coverage, since without U.S. TV it’s basically about finding something reliable enough on the internet to watch, but at the very least here’s a place to talk about the fights for those of you with live access.
