Spence-Peterson: Errol Spence’s Media Workout

Errol Spence gives a sneak peak of his training camp as he readies to defend his title against Lamont Peterson.

As Errol Spence Jr. (22-0, 19 KOs) prepares to make his first IBF title defense against Lamont Peterson (35-3-1, 17 KOs) on January 20th in Brooklyn, the welterweight titleholder hosts an open media workout to display what he’s been working on.

In this video caught by Fight Hub TV, Spence can be seen going through a mitt routine with trainer Derrick James as he sharpens his craft and works on leading and countering.

Spence, suspected to be perhaps the best welterweight in the world, will get a chance to show us more of what he has to offer in this Showtime main event. He’s most recently coming off a stoppage win over Kell Brook last May where he snatched the title in hostile territory.

His opponent, Peterson, will be making his way back after nearly a full year out of the ring — last taking a decision over David Avanesyan last February. And considering that Peterson, 33, is getting a bit long in the tooth, the expectation is that the 27-year-old Spence will simply be too strong and fresh for him.

We shall see.
