As WBO cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (13-0, 11 KOs) gets set for his World Boxing Super Series semi-finals match with Mairis Briedis (23-0, 18 KOs) this weekend, the titleholder tells Sky Sports he believes a future showdown with heavyweight Anthony Joshua is on the horizon — though he says it won’t happen right away...

“I will move up to heavyweight and show them all how good I am. I think you can see yourself, I will fight him (Joshua). Not yet though.

“But it is a question everybody keeps asking me, so once we go face to face, we will find out. It will be good.”

Usyk goes on to admit that his assignment this weekend against Briedis will be the toughest challenge of his career, but expects to show fans a display of his boxing skills against a good puncher.

Should Usyk get a win this weekend, he’ll have a place in the WBSS finals against the winner of Murat Gassiev vs. Yunier Dorticos, scheduled for Feb. 3.
