Any lingering doubt about Anthony Joshua’s drawing power has to be dead now, as his March 31 unification fight with Joseph Parker has already sold 70,000 tickets for Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, with a “limited number of tickets” still available for what is expected to be a sell-out event.
Joshua (20-0, 20 KO) will put his WBA and IBF titles on the line against the WBO belt held by Parker (24-0, 18 KO) in the show’s main event.
New Zealand’s Parker will be fighting in the United Kingdom for the second straight fight, following a somewhat controversial decision win over Hughie Fury last September.
Joshua is coming off of a big 2017, where he beat Wladimir Klitschko and Carlos Takam. His fight with Klitschko was named the BWAA Fight of the Year.
Joshua-Parker is set to be broadcast on Sky Box Office in the United Kingdom, with no U.S. TV yet announced.
