Ohara Davies joins Frank Warren, returns April 14th

Davies has one win since his loss to Josh Taylor

Ohara Davies, who left Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing after some controversial statements, has joined forces with Frank Warren and will make his ring return on April 14th, joining the Billy Joe Saunders-Martin Murray/Terry Flanagan-Maurice Hooker card at the O2.

Davies (16-1, 13 KO) demolished Derry Matthews last March, but a one-sided TKO loss to Josh Taylor knocked him off course four months later. He didn’t exactly help his case when he made comments about The Sun in what he called an attempt to rile up Tommy Coyle, causing widespread anger. Davies claimed that his “bad boy” persona was just an act, but there’s an NSFW metaphor about goats I’d like to invoke.

Even with MTK and Frank Warren behind him, Davies is going to have to knock a lot of heads to get back in fans’ good graces. Anyone you guys want to see him fight? Coyle’s booked for 4/21, so he’s off the table.
