George Groves and Chris Eubank Jr — and Eubank’s father — have traded plenty of words ahead of their February 17 clash in the World Boxing Super Series semifinal.
Groves is now making an official prediction: he’s going to knock Eubank out.
“I think that lately I am unstoppable. My distance control is fantastic, my reach is spot on, my jab is a lot faster than his.
“These are all things that will cause Junior nightmares and because of that, I believe it will be a comfortable fight. Once I find my range, once I kick in, there will be a lot of posturing from him, a lot of holding from him, but I am going to ice him. I believe he will be out cold.”
Groves (27-3, 20 KO) adds that he’s happy people are focusing on some poor past performances and losses, meaning he feels he’s being underestimated for his WBA title defense against Eubank (26-1, 20 KO).
Now that we’re just a few weeks out from this fight, how do you see this one going? Groves feels he’s in peak form, but Eubank has been fighting very well, too. What’s your pick?
