Fresh off his stint on reality television, Amir Khan has been sending out press releases indicating the fighter will be holding a press conference tomorrow where he’ll make a ‘major announcement.’
There’s been some speculation as to what Khan will actually be announcing, but at least some suspect there could be a fight with Adrien Broner on the way (with a fair bit of talk surrounding that match up and Broner making reference to it on social media).
However WBN is now reporting that the announcement will actually be that Khan has inked a deal with Matchroom Boxing, a promotional group headed by Eddie Hearn — who Khan once said he would never work with.
If that proves to be true then we may finally be one step closer to having Khan face Kell Brook, a bitter domestic rival also aligned with Hearn. That fight should’ve been made years ago, but negotiations never seem to pass go.
At this point Khan hasn’t fought since getting knocked out by Canelo Alvarez in May 2016, and has since been focusing on other ventures, including television and creating his own mixed martial arts league.
