Canelo Alvarez expected to sign deal with DAZN

The steaming service looks like it’ll land America’s biggest boxing attraction.

It’s a big day for Eddie Hearn. Sources have informed Yahoo Sports that Canelo Alvarez is finalizing a deal with DAZN to stream his fights, in what would be a major coup for the British promoter.

Canelo, the biggest boxing attraction in North America, became a free agent after completing his deal with HBO. The network then announced that they would be bowing out of boxing, which meant the biggest star was free to head to the highest bidder, and DAZN was just in time to fill the void.

While the details of the deal between Canelo and DAZN has not been disclosed at this time, Canelo is expected to ink a multi-fight deal with the streaming service, which would also include fight dates for Golden Boy Promotions to replace the ones they lost on HBO.

We’ll be sure to provide more information as it becomes available. There’s a press conference scheduled for Wendesday, announcing Canelo’s upcoming fight against Rocky Fielding, and it’s quite possible a formal announcement is made at that time.
