Colombia’s Miguel Marriaga is set to return to action on November 3 in El Paso, Texas, when he faces club fighter Jose Estrella on the Berchelt-Roman undercard on ESPN+.
Marriaga (26-3, 22 KO) is a solid fighter and fringe contender at featherweight, a guy who has challenged for world titles at 126 and 130 pounds. He lost to Oscar Valdez in April 2017 in a featherweight title bout, then moved up and faced Vasiliy Lomachenko at 130 less than four months later, losing again.
He came back to the ring in Cartagena, Colombia on May 12 of this year, beating Derlinson Buriel via fourth round stoppage.
Estrella (20-14-1, 14 KO) has the type of record you might expect, as he’s been used as a prospect checker for almost half a decade now, losing to the likes of Luis Nery, Jamie Conlan, Diego De La Hoya, Oscar Negrete, Christopher Diaz, Manny Robles III, and others.
The card will also feature the returns of prospects Robson Conceicao, Saul Rodriguez, Sagadat Rakhmankul, and Zach Prieto.
