Manny Pacquiao vs Adrien Broner Prediction

I am not an Adrien Broner fan plain and simple. I have followed him closely for the past couple of years and have followed his rise to stardom, or notoriety, whichever one you prefer to call it. I think that he had wasted potential and that it’s too late for him to ever become a boxing great. Now with that said, I understand why people like to watch him fight. He can draw crowds. He’s controversial, unapologetic, and many people find him annoying. And because so many people find him annoying, lots of people will tune in to his fights in the hopes that they get to see him knocked on his ass, like against Maidina. After Broner fought to a draw against Jessie Vargas a few months ago, I honestly had no idea who he would fight next. It was not a very cut and dry situation. I myself even toyed with the idea that they might put him up against Jeff Horn, since Horn was dismantled by Terrance Crawford this year and a fight against a big name like Broner would really be the only way for him to stay relevant in the sport.

When it was announced that Pacquiao would be taking on Broner this year, I was pleasantly surprised. This is going to be a big money fight, And I will personally be watching this fight. Predicting a winner for this fight is not easy. If this was a prime Manny vs Broner, I would expect Manny to finish Broner within seven rounds. We are looking at a far from prime Manny Pacquiao however. This version of Manny Pacquiao had trouble handling the pressure of Jeff Horn, and while he did look good in his most recent fight against Lucas Matthysse, I still have my concerns. On the other side, Adrien Broner, while not as skilled as he portrays himself, still does do some great things when he fights. He is quick and can put together devastating combinations. The only problem I really see with Broner is that he doesn’t let his hands go. If he comes into this fight and goes full throttle from the opening bell to closing bell, he could pull off the biggest win of his career.

Personally, I see Broner pulling this one off. I don’t want to see it, but if he can let his hands go, keep Pacquiao off him, and tire Manny out, he should be able to put together a nice decision victory. Either way, this fight has the potential to be extremely entertaining.
