Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya is going on the offensive in his petty feud with Floyd Mayweather. Not even a full day after responding to Floyd Mayweather’s taunts by calling him a salty woman-beater, De La Hoya propositions the best talent in his promotional stable — Gervonta Davis.

Davis has been in an awkward feud with Mayweather for the better part of the year, and there’s been story after story to demonstrate that things haven’t gotten any better with time. And with Davis extremely vocal in expressing his displeasure with his promotional situation, De La Hoya just couldn’t resist a chance hit Mayweather where it hurts.

Now some might consider that to be tortious interference, considering that Davis is still signed to Mayweather Promotions and all. Their CEO, Leonard Ellerbe, certainly seemed to.

Yikes...

Oscar, apparently aware that he might’ve overstepped his bounds, then tried to back off his statement with this response.

Nice save, Oscar. Good times...
