Hearns v GGG

... This is one French Palooka may have missed. . .Hearns made his bones at WW but fought as high as LHW beating Virgil Hill for a title. He was known for his great right hand. At 6'1" and 147 with a reach the same as Ali and traveled a long way. One of Tommy's best fights was a loss to SRL when he suffered a 14th round tko but was pretty spectacular through 12 winning 8 or 9 rounds of the 12 and proved he had great foot movement and an excellent jab. He also had an enormous GOOM at 154 vs the great Roberto Duran in the 2nd round in what is one of the most spectacular Goom's ever. Hearns also lit up Pipino Cuevus in round 2 in a title match at '47 in a prelude the the Leonard fight. Tommy also got a draw with SRL in one of the best matches ever at 168 in a fight which he knocked Leonard down twice and Ray later admitted Tommy won. When does that ever happen?

...Tommy's chin was a bit suspect because of the 14th round amazing comeback by Leonard in their 1st fight, the huge fight with Marvin Hagler where he was ko'd in the 3rd in maybe the best action 8 minutes in boxing history and then sadly he was ko'd by Iran Barkley when he was a bit older in a match where he was winning early, got careless. In that one (and I hate to say this)he was a bit like Khan.

.....GGG of course we all know about. Like Hagler he has been a career great at 160 exclusively. He can box and he has power and his chin like Canelo is like granite. Is he as good as Hagler? Probably not. Could he have beaten Hearns at 160 with Tommy's foot work and his jab and hard right hand? Or would it be a matter of time before Hearns would get caught? I don't even want to speculate though I hope some will. I would say though I think a prime Hearns would have beaten Canelo. Maybe I'm bias in that one.
