Former unified flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada, last seen defeating a game Felipe Orucuta on Superfly 3 last month, is facing a quick turnaround. Promoter Pepe Gomez tells ESPN Deportes that “El Gallo” will return to action next month, fighting another former flyweight champ in the Philippines’ Sonny Boy Jaro in Cancun on November 24th.

Should he get by Jaro, Estrada is looking to rematch Srisaket Sor Rungvisai in “February or March of 2019.”

Estrada (37-3, 25 KO) has continued to challenge himself since moving to 115 pounds, facing Carlos Cuadras, Sor Rungvisai, and Orucuta in succession. He is eight years younger than Jaro (44-14-5, 31 KO), who scored one of the current decade’s bigger upsets in 2012 by knocking out Pongsaklek Wonjongkam. He’s won 10 of his last 11, most notably falling to Jonas Sultan last year.

It’s not a great matchup, but as far as staying busy for Sor Rungvisai, Estrada could do a whole lot worse.
