WBSS: Josh Taylor and Ryan Martin face off at presser

Taylor and Martin mix it up this weekend on DAZN.

The World Boxing Super Series’ junior welterweight tournament rolls on this weekend when highly touted prospect Josh Taylor (13-0, 11 KOs) takes on Ryan Martin (22-0, 12 KOs) in a main event that will stream live on DAZN. The fighters faced off during their final press conference, which can be viewed above.

Taylor, 29, is most recently coming off a decision over Viktor Postol in June, which snapped a four-fight knockout streak. Taylor has looked every bit of a future titleholder, but he’ll have to keep it up if he’s to live up to his promise.

Meanwhile Martin, 25, is coming off a decision win over Breidis Prescott in May. There’s no real question that Taylor will be the most talented fighter he’s faced thus far in his career, but Martin believes he’s up to the task.

The winner of this fight will move on to face Ivan Baranchyk in the semifinal round. Baranchyk just won his quarterfinals match this past weekend by stopping Anthony Yigit, while on the other side of the tournament bracket Regis Prograis will be taking on Kiryl Relikh. Prograis won his quaterfinals match by taking a wide decision over Terry Flanagan in last weekend’s DAZN main event.
