This morning at 7 am ET streaming live on DAZN, two fights in the World Boxing Super Series will come our way from Yokohama, Japan, one bout in the bantamweight division, the other in the junior welterweight division.
In the main event, WBA “world” bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue (16-0, 14 KO) looks to keep up his destruction against former titleholder Juan Carlos Payano (20-1, 9 KO). Inoue won titles at 108 and 115 before moving up to 118 in May, where he thrashed Jamie McDonnell in under two minutes.
Payano held the WBA “super world” title from 2014-16, beating Anselmo Moreno for the belt, defending once against Rau’shee Warren, and then losing to Warren in a rematch. He’s 3-0 since then.
In the junior welterweight fight, Kiryl Relikh (22-2, 19 KO) will defend his WBA “world” title against Eduard Troyanovsky (27-1, 24 KO) in a matchup of punchers, a fight that could be short and explosive.
WBC junior flyweight champion Ken Shiro (13-0, 7 KO) will also be in action defending his title, as he faces veteran contender Milan Melindo (37-3, 13 KO).
