Amir Khan and Kell Brook may finally, truly be on a collision course.
Khan tells Sky Sports that Brook has agreed to a weight clause for a fight. It’s an important step, but the deal is far from done otherwise.
“He’s agreed to be 147, and also have a rehydration clause of 10 pounds. I’m happy with that. If he’s happy to take that, so am I. That fight can happen then 147 it is, and we’re with the same promotional team, so that makes the fight even easier. Let’s see what happens.”
Khan (33-4, 20 KO) and Brook (37-2, 26 KO) have circled one another for years now, talking constantly in the media about the potential grudge match, but it’s never come through. This may be the best chance we’ve seen yet.
Khan returned to action after a nearly two year layoff in 2018, beating Phil Lo Greco and Samuel Vargas. Brook moved up to 154 for a fight with Sergey Rabchenko in March, knocking Rabchenko out in two rounds.
