Billy Joe Saunders’ October 20th title defense against Demetrius Andrade is off. The Massachusetts State Athletic Commission has denied him a license, citing his recent drug test failure for banned stimulant oxilofrine. Saunders and his team blamed a nasal decongestant spray, but that wasn’t enough to sway MSAC.
Saunders had a measured, insightful response to the ruling.
Saunders, who was dialled in on speaker phone, responded: “You can suck my prick.”
Charming as always.
Dan Rafael had further details:
I spoke to @PacoValcarcel. He said @BooBooAndrade's fight Oct. 20 vs unbeaten Walter Kautondokwa (2nd in @WorldBoxingOrg 160 ratings) will be for interim belt. Saunders will have appeals process with WBO. He is unlikely to win it. If he doesn't, Oct 20 winner will be full titlist

Kautondokwa (17-0, 16 KO), a 33-year-old out of Namibia, has not gone the distance since his professional debut and was last seen knocking out Argentinian veteran Billi Godoy in March. “The Executioner” looks similarly tall and rangy as Andrade (25-0, 16 KO) and his strength of schedule isn’t the worst, all things considered, but he’s never fought outside of Africa and is going up against a legit top middleweight with less than two weeks to prepare.
Is it unprofessional of me to point and laugh at Saunders, the world’s least sympathetic human? I feel like it’s unprofessional of me.
