Krzysztof Glowacki moves on in the World Boxing Super Series’ cruiserweight tournament, taking a unanimous decision over Maksim Vlasov over 12 rounds of action. At the end of the fight the official judges turned in scores of 118-110, 117-110, and 115-112 in favor of Glowacki, while BLH scored it 117-109 for Glowacki.
This fight was a lot of the other co-feature bout between Mairis Briedis and Noel Mikaelian, with a good bit of sloppy action and head clashses. But this fight has much more sustained action than that bout, and the judges actually seemed to get the decision right in this one.
Vlasov was game for this bout, pressuring the hard-hitting Glowacki from the opening bell, but that left him to walking into some big punches that visibly shook him up on several occasions. Vlasov still managed to make a fight of it, though, and the fight was wider on the cards than it really was inside of the ring.
With Glowacki taking the win tonight, he’s set to face Mairis Briedis in the tournament’s semifinals match, with a date and venue expected to be announced within the coming weeks.
