Richardson: Pacquiao better not underestimate Broner

Trainer Naazim Richardson shares his thoughts on Manny Pacquiao’s next expected opponent.

Wil Esco is an assistant editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2014.

In a quick interview with Fight Hub TV, trainer Naazim Richardson provides some quick thoughts on the expected match-up between Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner for the top of the year.

“Pacquiao and Broner. The resurgence of Pacquiao has been electrifying so maybe we can expect the resurgence of Broner...It’s not like that kid can’t fight. I mean I’ve been knowing Broner since he was a little kid at the Silver Gloves beating people up.

“Broner is a special talent, and like I said, Kevin Cunningham does a great job with him. Michael Stafford has done a great job with him...you liable to expect anything outta Broner. That’s a fighting lil’ rat. I use to throw him out my room in the Silver Gloves — ‘cause he was full of energy, man.

“I hope he targets the gym because when he does he is a problem. So like I said, Pacquiao better not underestimate him, any way shape or form.”
