A press conference to officially announce the Manny Pacquiao vs Adrien Broner fight is coming on Monday, Nov. 19 in New York, with the two also set to appear together at a second press conference the following day in Beverly Hills.
It’s been expected for weeks now that Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39 KO) will defend his WBA “world” welterweight title against Broner (33-3-1, 24 KO) on Jan. 19 in Las Vegas. It will be a Showtime pay-per-view event.
Pacquiao, who turns 40 on Dec. 17, hasn’t fought in the United States since Nov. 2016, when he beat Jessie Vargas. In his last two, he has dropped a controversial decision to Jeff Horn in Australia, and then came back in Kuala Lumpur to rout and stop Lucas Matthysse, Pacquiao’s first stoppage win since 2009.
Broner, 29, is coming off of a draw against the aforementioned Vargas in April, which came after a July 2017 loss to Mikey Garcia.
