Tonight at Midnight ET on ESPN, Maurice Hooker and Alex Saucedo will meet in Oklahoma City for Hooker’s WBO junior welterweight title in the Top Rank on ESPN main event.
Hooker (24-0-3, 16 KO) won the then-vacant title in June, when he went to Manchester and won a split decision over Terry Flanagan, a former lightweight titleholder. The 29-year-old Hooker, a native of Dallas, is going on the road again, though not to such an extreme degree, of course.
Saucedo (28-0, 18 KO) is from Oklahoma City, so he’ll have home field advantage. The 24-year-old challenger is coming off of a thrilling win over Lenny Zappavigna in June at the same building, Chesapeake Energy Arena, and with a win here, could turn OKC into another frequent Top Rank stop.
In the co-feature, welterweights Egidijus Kavaliauskas (20-0, 16 KO) and Roberto Arriaza (17-0, 13 KO) will meet for a future shot at welterweight titleholder Terence Crawford.
