This evening at 6 pm ET streaming live from Kansas on DAZN, Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller returns to the ring in a heavyweight main event against Bogdan Dinu.
Miller (22-0-1, 19 KO) is looking to end his 2018 on a high note, having gone 2-0 this year with wins over Johann Duhaupas and Tomasz Adamek. He’s looking to position himself for a world title shot at some point in 2019, and a win over Dinu (18-0, 14 KO) would keep his hype train rolling on.
The card will also feature Claressa Shields vs Hannah Rankin for three middleweight titles, plus Nico Hernandez, Brandon Rios, and more in action.

ROUND BY ROUND
JARRELL MILLER vs BOGDAN DINU
Round 1: Dinu lands a jab over Miller’s extended jab. Miller misses on a big right hook. Dinu probes with a couple more jabs as MIller was in and looks to land to the body. Dinu throws a short flurry of punches as Miller tries to stalk him around the ring. Now Dinu lands hookds to both sides of Miller’s Body. Now Miller tries to get in on the action with a big right hook to the body. Two more hooks to the body come from Miller. Nice right hand lands for Dinu to end the round. I like Dinu to start the fight. Dinu 10-9.
Round 2: Miller flicks a jab to start the round. Miller tries to follow it up with several more jabs but they can’t land clean. Now Dinu gets in a right hand on Miller. Check hook lands for Dinu, who then circles out of danger. Miller gets in a right hook to the body but can’t land the hook to the head. Three more jabs come from Dinu, followed by a right hand. Dinu continues to jab and disrupt Miller’s attack. I like Dinu’s boxing in this round. Dinu 10-9, 20-18.
Round 3: Dinu jabs and moves on the outside and hits the deck as Miller steps on his foot. Miller trying to get more aggressive now but walks onto a couple more Dinu punches. Miller misses on an uppercut. Miller lands a left hook to the body as he gets Dinu to the ropes. A couple more body shots land well for Miller. Miller walks forward and lands several more body punches and Dinu looks like he’s having more difficulty keeping this fight at the range he wants. Hard body shot lands low and puts Dinu down. Referee gives Dinu some time to recover and warns Miller for low blows. Miller walks into a couple more punches from Dinu but I think MIller landed the biggest shots of the round. Miller 10-9.
Round 4: Miller tries to jab to the body. Dinu going back to boxing and moving but Miller presses him and the two wind up in a clinch. Miller comes back foward and walks into a couple more hooks from Dinu. Miller lands a hard straight right to the body. Miller rips the body again and looks to follow it up with something else but can’t find the opening. Short uppercut lands on the inside for Miller and he drops Dinu hard! Dinu barely beats the 10-count and says he wan’ts to continue. A follow up flurry from Miller drops Dinu again! Dinu doesn’t beat the count this time. Miller KO-4
CLARESSA SHIELDS vs HANNAH RANKIN
Round 1: Rankin measures with a few jabs that don’t make contact, just designed to gauge range. Shields lands a counter hook right on the face of Rankin. Shields lands two more hard hooks to Rankin’s body. Chopping right hand lands for Shields as Rankin comes in. Shields tries to flurry but gets a bit wild for a moment. Two left hooks land for Shields upstairs. Shields 10-9.
Round 2: Rankin pumps a few more jabs that touch nothing but air and Shields gets in a counter right hand. Jab lands for Shields at center ring. Another left hook lands upstairs following a right hook to the body. Shields puts her hands down as he tries to goad Rankin into opening up. Stiff left jab lands for Shields, who then tries to flurry and she lands a hard right hand that shakes up Rankin! Shields 10-9, 20-18.
Round 3: Jab lands for Shields after she slips a few shots from Rankin. Accidental head clash causes the referee to step in and see if there was any damage done — there wasn’t. Shields walks in and throws two and then Rankin tries to turn the table and rattle off a few punches on Shields. Shields responds by dropping her hands again and daring Rankin to stand and trade with her. Right hand to the body lands for Shields. Shields 10-9.
Round 4: Shields starts with a jab that falls short. Straight right hand lead lands solid for Shields. Both fighters try to mix it up on the inside and Shields gets the better of it, so Rankin starts moving again. Double jab comes from Shields. Right hand to the body lands again for Shields, who then tries to follow it up with a hook. Hard right hand lands hard on Rankin’s face! Two more hard punches land for Shields as she steps to Rankin. Rankin tries to fire back as the bell rings. Shields 10-9, 40-36.
Round 5: Shields tries to land a right hand but can’t quite land it clean. Hard jab lands for Shields to follow it up and Rankin’s face looks a little marked up. Rankin walks right into a stiff jab from Shields. Hard right hand lands to the body for Shields, followed by a left hook and another right hook downstairs. Shields continues her body attack with another right hand to the body that backs Rankin off. Shields 10-9.
Round 6: Shields winds up the bolo punch and then lets go a left jab. Rankin gets in a left hook but then walks into another Shields counter. Shields throws two counters to the body and Rankin backs up all the way to the opposite side of the ring. Shields gets in a couple more body shots on Rankin and then smiles at her. Shields 10-9, 60-54.
Round 7: Shields comes out quick with a flurry of punches and lands a couple of hard shots. Rankin tries to sneak in a punch in between Shields’ attack but she continues to get the worse of the exchanges. Double left hook comes from Shields to the body and head. Shields snaps a sharp jab on Rankin’s face. Both fighters exchange words at the bell. Shields 10-9.
Round 8: Rankin gets in a right hand at the end of a double jab. Shields lands a stiff jab at center ring, the waits for another counter opportunity. Uppercut lands well for Shields as Rankin tries to mount an attack. Shields throws a couple more hooks and lands cleaner, harder shots during almost every exchange. Shields 10-9, 80-72.
Round 9: Shields drops her hands to again taunt Rankin. Both fighters get tied up during an exchange and neither can get in any clean punches. Jab lands for Shields as she stands at center ring. Three more jabs come from Shields as Rankin just tries to cover up. Right hand lands a couple of time just before the bell and they appear to shake up Rankin. Shields 10-9.
Round 10: Both fighters try to exchange and Rankin is still trying to make a go of it, throwing whatever she can still muster. Shields dances along the ropes and then flashes two jabs followed by a left hook that lands clean. Shields partially lands an overhand right on Rankin. Rankin tries to come back but walks into another big punch from Shields. Shields 10-9, 100-90.
NICO HERNANDEZ vs JOSUE MORALES
Round 1: Hernandez starts with a jab that doesn’t find the mark. Hernandez presses forward with a lead right hand to the body that falls short. Morales tries a looking left hand from his his southpaw stance but it’s only glancing. Hernandez goes down to the body with a right hand. Now Hernandez turns southpaw and quickly switches orthodox to land a left hook. Both fighters trade at the bell. Not much happened here but I favor Hernandez more. Hernandez 10-9.
Round 2: Hernandez lands a solid left hook to the body at the end of a combination. Morales sneaks in a straight left hand at center ring. Hernandez walks Morales to the ropes and gets in another hard left hook to the body. Hernandez throws two more hooks to the body and then Morales is able to escape the ropes. Hard right hand lands downstairs again for Hernandez. Hernandez 10-9, 20-18.
Round 3: Both fighters try to establish their jabs as they jockey for position. Morales goes downstairs with a body shot. Hernandez leads with three punches but Morales is able to back away from the attack. Now Morales gets in his jab that knocks Hernandez off balance. Hernandez tries to launch a counter offensive and gets in a couple of good punches on the inside. Hard right hook lands for Hernandez. Hernandez 10-9.
Round 4: Both fighters start with a lot of feints at center ring. Hernandez tries a straight right to the body but Morales is able to pull off the punch. Another right hand to the body comes from Hernandez and lands this time. Now Hernandez misses on a sweeping right hook but follows it up with a short flurry as Morales covers up. Hernandez gets in a nice left hook to the body as Moarles wants to respond. Hernandez 10-9, 40-36.
Round 5: So far this fight hasn’t produced the fireworks Hernandez wanted for his hometown fans, but just as I say that Hernandez tries to turn it up with a volley of punches as Morales keeps a tight guard. Morales taunts Hernandez to suggest he blocked the punches. Hernandez jumps in again and lands hooks to both sides of Morales’ body. Hard right followed by a left hook to the body lands for Hernandez. Hernandez is outworking Morales here. Hernandez 10-9.
Round 6: Hernandez walks forward behind a jab. Hernandez tries a check hook that just misses. Hernandez continues to let his hands go while Morales maintains his tight defensive guard. Morales isn’t really taking any damage, but he’s not winning these rounds. Big left hand lands for Morales now. Hernandez throws three punches, finishing with a hook to the body. Hernandez comes in with four hooks now and Morales smiles. Hernandez 10-9, 60-54.
Round 7: Both fighters trade shots to start the round. Hernandez comes forward with a couple jabs as Morales backs out of range. Hernandez gets back in range and lets some more hooks go. Hernandez goes southpaw again and tries to get in a right hand as his lead hand. Short right hand partially lands for Hernandez. Hernandez misses on a big punch which makes him fall off balance. Hernandez 10-9.
Round 8: Last round. Hernandez throws three punches that Morales is able to evade. Hernandez throws hooks to both sides of Morales’ body. Two more hooks go downstairs for Hernandez as Morales covers up. Morales has been good enough to play spoiler for Hernandez, but he’s not doing enough to win rounds. Hernandez has been good with targeting his body shots on Morales. Three more hooks land for Hernandez just before the final bell. Hernandez 10-9. I’ve got it a shutout for Hernandez, 80-72.
BRANDON RIOS vs RAMON ALVAREZ
Round 1: Rios leas with a jab that falls short. Alvarez tries a big right hand that is partially blocked by Rios. Another one-two lands for Alvarez at center ring. Rios covers up but gets knocked off balance by right hands from Alvarez. Two more right hands land for Alvarez. Rios is looking as washed as we all knew him to be. Rios walks onto punches from Alvarez who just picks his counter shots as Rios slowly marches forward. Rios tries to double up his left hand but he can’t get much done. Left hook lands clean for Alvarez. Alvarez 10-9.
Round 2: Rios walks right into an Alvarez jab to start the round. Alvarez throws three punches and then pivots away from Rios. Rios tries to get on the inside and throws a number of short hooks and uppercuts, but they’re all arm punches. Rios is getting his hooks off now that he’s gotten in Alvarez’s chest. Rios is throwing punches in bunches but Alvarez catches him with a clean shot in between. Hard right hand lands clean for RIos with Alvarez on the ropes! Rios 10-9, 19-19.
Round 3: Alvarez lands a clean right hand counter on Rios’ head. Rios gets in a short body shot as he’s keeping Alvarez on the ropes. Another right hand lands for Rios as Alvarez doesn’t seem prepared to fight at Rios’ pace. Rios lands a chopping right hand as he gets Alvarez on the ropes again and Rios is just working his hands on the inside. Alvarez is fighting back but he seems a little tired already. Alvarez throws a gook that partially lands. Alvarez landed some good shots but it feels like Rios is getting his right. Rios 10-9.
Round 4: Alvarez starts off with a flurry of punches as Rios just covers up. Alvarez throws a few more and Rios responds with his short hooks on the inside. Rios walks forward again behind a number of punches and Alvarez just has to try and fight him off. Two short left hooks land for Rios and Alvarez gets in one in return. Hard left hook lands to the head for Rios. Rios is working his hands on the inside again and Alvarez is throwing as much as he can. Both fighters just standing in front of each other and trading which is making it easy for Rios to do his thing. Rios 10-9, 39-37.
Round 5: Right hand to the body lands for Alvarez, followed by and overhand right upstairs. Alvarez is back on the ropes again and looking for spots to counter. Two short punches land for Alvarez at mid-range. Rios lands a right hand to the body and a short left to the head. Rios backs Alvarez to another corner and lands a chopping right hand to the head. Alvarez lands a left hook but Rios throws four punches in response. Big left hook knocks Alvarez back to the ropes! Rios 10-9.
Round 6: Alvarez starts off three punch combination as Rios covers up. Hard left hook lands to the head for Alvarez but Rios takes two steps back in and tries to land a hook of his own. Alvarez is back on the ropes again and lands two hooks on the inside. Chopping right hand lands for Alvarez this time. Right hand lands clean for Rios. Rios measures Alvarez with a few punches and Rios lands a clean right hand again. Left to the body lands for Alvarez, but Rios lands a combination in return. I think Rios is edging all of these round even though Alvarez is competitive. Rios 10-9, 59-55.
Round 7: Alvarez throws a flurry to start the round and lands a few good hooks. Big right hand lands clean for Rios. Alvarez gets pushed back to the ropes and Rios just throws a number of hooks and lands a few of them clean, rocking Alvarez. Right hand lands again for Rios, and Alvarez has taken a lot of clean punches in this fight. Rios keeps the pressure on Alvarez and walks in and throws with both hands. Alvarez lands a hard left hook on Rios! Rios takes it and tries to throw a few back. Lots of clean action in this fight! Rios 10-9.
Round 8: Alvarez lands a straight right hand but Rios walks forward again and backs Alvarez to the ropes. Alvarez lands several hooks on Rios with his back on the ropes. Alvarez lands a short uppercut on the inside, then another one. Another couple uppercuts land for Alvarez as Rios walks in his chest. Sharp jab lands for Alvarez. Two more hooks come from Alvarez as he’s trapped on the ropes. Alvarez is having a better round with his counterpunching. Hard right hand lands for Rios, then another! Alvarez gets stunned by several right hands and Alvarez almost looked to be knocked out on his feet as the bell rings. I was about to give Alvarez this round until that happened. Rios 10-9.
Round 9: Rios starts quick this time and comes right after Alvarez. Rios assaults Alvarez along the ropes and gets in a left hook. Two more big hooks land for Rios and the referee has seen enough, he steps in and stops it. Rios TKO-9.
LUIS ARIAS vs GABRIEL ROSADO
Round 1: Arias comes out with a quick jab that gets parried. Rosado tries to double up on his own jab but Arias is able to catch those punches as well. Hard right hook lands to the body for Arias. Arias steps forward but Rosado meets him with a jab. Arias tries three hooks but Rosado is able to duck them. Another right hook lands to the body for Arias. Rosado throws his own right hook downstairs. Arias landed the best punches of the round for me. Arias 10-9.
Round 2: Rosado paws with several jabs at center ring, attempting to maintain distance. Arias presses forward but Rosado lands a short right hand to the body. Arias jabs to the body and then circles along the ropes before landing a counter right hand upstairs. Arias steps forward with a combination and lands a left hook to the body. Rosado is mixing up his attack better in this round but he hasn’t been able to keep Arias for walking in on him. Rosado still did the better work in this round. Rosado 10-9, 19-19.
Round 3: Arias presses forward with a number of feints to draw out Rosado’s defense. Rosado jabs, jabs, and throws a right hand before Arias can mount his attack. Arias continues to walk forward behind his guard and throws a short flurry with Rosado on the ropes. Rosado lands a left hook to the head as he catches Arias coming in. Arias misses on a huge left hook. Arias whips three hard hooks to the body. Arias 10-9.
Round 4: Arias tries a counter right hand that falls short. Now Arias tries an overhand right hand that glances off Rosado’s head. Rosado throws a few jabs that miss but he keeps his hands moving, taking the play away from Arias. Both fighters trade along the ropes and both land a few clean shots. Hard left hook to the body partially lands for Arias. Both fighters get in each other’s faces once the bell rings, talking trash to each other. Close round, I think Arias edged it. Arias 10-9.
Round 5: Arias walks in and throws a combination again once he gets Rosado along the ropes. Both fighters trade jabs and jockey for position at center ring. Left hook lands to the head for Arias. Arias tries three big hooks but they miss badly. Counter right hand lands for Arias, but Rosado gets in a left hook to the body in return. I still think Arias is edging the rounds with his effective aggression. Arias 10-9.
Round 6: Rosado tries a check hook right out the gate. Right hand lands to the body for Rosado. Now Rosado lands a sharp jab at center ring. Arias tries a big chopping right hand but it can’t find the mark. Rosado lands another jab followed by a right hand to the body. Arias misses on another haymaker right hand. Short one-two lands for Rosado as he gets backed to the corner. I like Rosado in this round. Rosado 10-9, 56-58.
Round 7: Arias walks forward behind a stiff jab as he tries to keep the pressure on Rosado. Arias lands a couple jabs at center ring, then steps forward again. Rosado is throwing some quick shots but they’re not landing with any real authority. Now Rosado lands three jabs. Arias comes back with a hook to the body. Right hand lands clean to the body for Rosado. Arias didn’t throw enough this round. Rosado 10-9.
Round 8: Arias steps forward and both fighters just miss on big right hands. Arias slaps Rosado’s glove with a shot or two as Rosado covers up. Rosado jabs a few times then moves to his left. Rosado hasn’t gone to war with Arias, he’s fighting in a very controlled manner thus far. Arias lands two good body shots on Rosado. Counter right lands for Rosado. Rosado rattles off another combination that keeps Arias from throwing. Rosado 10-9, 76-76.
Round 9: Rosado mounts an attack to start the round and backs Arias to the ropes and Rosado Strafes him with a number of punches until Arias just holds on! Rosado is the one coming forward on Arias, who might be getting a little fatigued. Hard right hand to the body lands for Arias but Rosado walks in and lines up a right hand. Uppercut lands on the inside for Rosado, who again chases Arias into the corner. Rosado 10-9.
Round 10: Arias tries to walk forward and land a left hook to the body. Right uppercut to the chin lands clean for Arias. Arias is pressing again and throws a couple of hard hooks on Rosado. Rosado pokes with his jab and then circles to both as he tries to keep Arias from getting his feet set. Three hooks come from Arias who lands a couple to the body. Arias 10-9, 95-95.
Round 11: One-two lands well for Arias to start the round. Another left hook, right hand lands for Arias! Arias tries a combination but can’t land anything clean. Now Arias throws another flurry and this time gets in a hard left hook to the body. Arias digs to the body again with a right uppercut. Right hand to the head lands for Rosado. Counter right hook lands for Arias! It took a while but this fight is heating up. Rosado throws a couple of right hands at the bell. I think Arias edged this round. Arias 10-9.
Round 12: Left hook lands for Rosado as Arias gets in a punch of his own. Rosado walks Arias back to the ropes but can’t get anything off before a break. Head clash causes a cut over Arias right eye, and Arias doesn’t like it. Arias paws at the bloody running in his eye and then lands a short left hook but misses badly on the follow up right. Rosado lands a right hand. Rosado tries to come after Arias as he sees him troubled by the blood and Rosado lands a couple of right hands. Rosado 10-9. I’ve got it a draw, 114-114.
