As light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol (14-0, 11 KOs) gets prepared to defend his WBA title against Jean Pascal (33-5-1, 20 KOs) on Saturday in Atlantic City, NJ, Bivol tells RingTV that he’s excited for a bout he thinks will be filled with fireworks. Speaking on the fight with Pascal, Bivol said:

“He is a very aggressive and exciting fighter, I look forward to a real war with him,” Bivol (14-0, 11 knockouts) told The Ring through Alik Frolov. “He is a very good counterpuncher and very experienced. I think this will be an action-filled fight.”

Bivol, 27, is most recently coming off a wide decision win over Isaac Chilemba in August while Pascal, 36, is coming off a couple of low-tier stoppages since he dropped a majority decision to Eleider Alvarez in June 2017.

Pascal’s best days are behind him, but he usually comes to fight which could make this a fun one while it lasts. And should Bivol get through this title defense successfully, his manager says he will begin taking steps to unify light heavyweight titles until he becomes the undisputed champion.
