As unified junior middleweight champion Jarrett Hurd (22-0, 15 KOs) gets set to defend his belts against Jason Welborn (24-6, 7 KOs) on Dec. 1st, Showtime releases a video feature on a typical day in Hurd’s training camp.
Hurd talks about his daily routine, maintaining his weight, and his thought process heading into this match. Of course Welborn isn’t expected to pose much of a threat to Hurd, but Hurd still says he can’t afford to overlook any opponent who has everything to gain. And coming off a few tough fights with a rough and tumble style, he can probably use a softer touch.
Anyway, not long after that segment we get a glimpse of Hurd in the gym, sparring and saying how he wants to showcase better defense in this fight. That’s probably not a completely bad idea.
Get to know a little bit more about the titleholder from Maryland in the video above.
