HBO Boxing’s final show on December 8th has taken a hit, as co-star Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez has withdrawn from his bout with Pedro Guevara due to a torn meniscus.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that K2 Promotions’ Tom Loeffler is “in negotiations” to bring in Juan Francisco Estrada as a replacement.

Gonzalez (47-2, 39 KO) ended a 12-month hiatus in September with a one-sided beatdown of Moises Fuentes. The fight was his first since his stunning knockout loss to Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, and his bout with Guevara (30-3-1, 17 KO) was meant to lead into an offered fight with Kal Yafai in 2019.

Estrada (37-3, 25 KO) dropped an incredibly competitive majority decision to Sor Rungvisai in March, then returned seven months later to defeat a game Felipe Orucuta in the main event of Superfly 3.

The December 8th card is headlined by Cecilia Braekhus vs. Aleksandra Lopes and also features Claressa Shields opposite Femke Hermans.
