Middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez (50-1-2, 34 KOs) is currently scheduled for what is expected to be a one-off fight at 168lbs, taking on WBA titleholder Rocky Fielding (27-1, 15 KOs) on Dec. 15, but intends to return back to middleweight to defend his crown.

During a conference call with Canelo, discussing this upcoming bout and potential future fights, Canelo was asked about his thoughts on Golovkin possibly joining him on the DAZN streaming platform.

Via RingTV:

“He can do whatever he wants, whatever is convenient,” Alvarez responded to The Ring during the call. “I did my thing and to each his own. We’ll see in the future. I’m always willing to make a third fight. We did two, why not three?”

Canelo and Golovkin are coming off two close, competitive fights, neither of which went Golovkin’s way. Golovkin would obviously like another shot at Canelo, to right that perceived wrong, but at age 36 it’s reasonable to wonder if he can really change anything in order to score a decisive victory in a third fight.

Are any of you interested in seeing Golovkin and Canelo run it back one more time, or have you already seen everything you’ve needed to see?
