Hearn: Khan and Brook owe it to fans to fight one another

Eddie Hearn says British fans have waited so long for a showdown between Amir Khan and Kell Brook that the two fighters must make it happen.

Amir Khan loves to flaunt the fact that he has options for notable fights outside of his domestic rival Kell Brook, but that’s the fight everybody wants to see him in — including Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn.

Hearn confirms to Sky Sports that he’s has some discussions with Khan about some other potential fights which have been throw around, but those aren’t the ones he wants to see him in at this moment.

“There have been some sort of minor discussions between myself and Amir about Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter. Terence Crawford would like a fight with Amir Khan as well.

“You know where I sit with it. They’re all great fights, there’s only one fight for me, and that’s the Kell Brook fight and I think as British fight fans, as the general public, I think they almost owe it to us, to give us that fight.”

Hearn would continue by saying that there’s no reason why a Brook-Khan fight shouldn’t be made if Brook wins his upcoming fight against Michael Zerafa Dec. 8, and says fans should never forgive them if it doesn’t happen.
