Farmer: If anybody is dominating 130lbs, it’s me

Tevin Farmer talks about his most recent performance against Francisco Fonseca.

Wil Esco is an assistant editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2014.

Tevin Farmer took a few moments to chat with Fight Hub TV right after his decision win over Francisco Fonseca on Saturday night, and talked a little about the fight and what he has planned next. Check it out..

Farmer on how he would grade his performance:

“B-, C+. There’s a lot to learn, I’m still learning. I’m still learning and we’re getting better and better, and to perform like how I did tonight was still great. But for me to say it’s a B-, C+, that means I have a lot to grow and that means I’m gonna be really dangerous.”

On fighting most of the fight with Fonseca on the inside:

“If you see early on in the fight and you see later on in the fight, I could’ve boxed him all day, but sometimes that’s not what we want, you know? And sometimes we show them we gonna go in there and do certain things, that we working on things. That’s what we did.”

On which other champions he wants to target next:

“All of ‘em...any unification period, you become a bigger name. It’s not one champion on there that’s really dominating the sport at 130. And if anybody was it would be me because I’m fighting more than all of ‘em.”

On what he thinks of Gervonta Davis fighting Abner Mares:

“I don’t know, it’s a fight. Abner Mares moving up. Abner Mares’ tough, I don’t wanna take nothing from him. Davis is a little bigger, but we gonna gonna see. We gonna see what happens.”
