Pacquiao-Broner: Adrien Broner’s Media Workout

Watch Adrien Broner prepare for his Jan. 19 fight against Manny Pacquiao.

As Adrien Broner (33-3-1, 24 KOs) gets ready for the biggest fight of his career, facing Manny Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39 KOs) on Jan. 19 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Broner holds an open media workout where you can see him train with Kevin Cunningham and Mike Stafford.

In this video clip you can watch Broner go through a light shadowboxing routine, and then go through a mitts routine with both longtime trainers. Broner then finishes the workout with some heavy bag work.

Broner, 29, enters this fight coming off a majority draw with Jessie Vargas back in April, nine months removed from a clear decision loss to Mikey Garcia in July 2017. In fact Broner hasn’t notched a win since he squeaked past Adrian Granados in February 2017. That’s nearly two full years! And it could be even longer if he doesn’t by Pacquiao.

Pacquiao, who just turned 40 a couple of days ago, comes into this fight after scoring his first stoppage in almost 10 years against Lucas Matthysse. To be fair, Matthysse was a perfect style match-up for Pacquiao and obviously far past his best days, but for Pacquiao to be able to score the stoppage was still a step in the right direction.

Broner will obviously have his work cut out for him in this outing, and his preparation will be key to how competitive the fight actually turns outs to be. But Broner is at least saying the right things about taking his training seriously, although we won’t see the results of those efforts until fight night.
