Naazim Richardson reacts to Wilder-Fury draw

The trainer breaks down his thoughts on the outcome of the fight.

Richardson on what he thought of the Wilder-Fury draw:

Boxing, you know what I mean?! You could see how Deontay Wilder came out, he knew ‘If I don’t get this guy outta here I’m not gonna win this fight.’ And he tried to get him outta there.”

On who he had winning the fight:

“I had Deontay up slightly but the way I was judging was the way I knew they was gonna judge it. I knew they was gonna judge it [like that]. I didn’t have him up.”

On if he wants to see a rematch:

“I mean, what Fury does is entertaining but it’s the kind of thing that, you know, you might not wanna watch too much of it. You know what I mean? It’s entertaining but after a while you’re like ‘ok’ — you know, you put your hands behind your back, this is a serious competition. You disrespecting a great champion sticking your hands behind your back and then say ‘I won’ and you picking yourself off the canvas.”

On if Wilder should target a fight with Anthony Joshua or look for Fury again:

“If Joshua wanted to fight these dudes, Joshua woulda fought these dudes, man. Joshua ain’t trying to fight these dudes.”
