Today beginning at 2 pm ET streaming live on DAZN in the U.S. and airing on Sky Sports in the U.K., Kell Brook returns to action against Australia’s Michael Zerafa in Brook’s hometown of Sheffield, England.
Brook (37-2, 26 KO) is the heavy favorite here, and this was really supposed to be a final tune-up before a bout with Amir Khan in the spring of 2019. But that fight’s looking less and less likely, so Brook is turning his attention to other welterweights for potential big fights next year, assuming he gets through this as expected. Zerafa (25-2, 14 KO) is, of course, hoping to cause the big upset, but the odds are greatly against him.
On the undercard, top welterweight prospect Josh Kelly (8-0, 6 KO) steps up his competition a bit against former titleholder David Avanesyan (23-3-1, 11 KO) (UPDATE: this fight has been canceled), and Jono Carroll (16-0, 3 KO) takes on Guillaume Frenois (46-1, 12 KO) in an IBF super featherweight eliminator.
