Coming off of shoulder surgery in a lightweight unification bout on Saturday night, Vasiliy Lomachenko once again proved his brilliance with a wide decision win over Jose Pedraza at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater in New York, live on ESPN.
Lomachenko (12-1, 9 KO) dropped Pedraza (25-2, 12 KO) twice in a dominant 11th round, sealing the fight for good and putting on a show for the New York fans in the end.

Lomachenko said after the fight that his goals for 2019 are to add two more belts — in other words, fully unify the lightweight division — and face Mikey Garcia, a fight that every boxing fan wants, or at least they should.
Garcia, of course, is busy at the moment, as he’s moving up to welterweight in March to face Errol Spence Jr in a Showtime pay-per-view main event. But whatever happens there, Lomachenko-Garcia would still be an attractive fight, though one difficult to make politically.
