Omar Figueroa works the heavy bag as he prepares for clash with Adrien Broner

Figueroa will take on Broner this April.

Wil Esco is an assistant editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2014.

Fight Hub TV was able to get some footage of Omar Figueroa’s training camp as he gets set to take on Adrien Broner on April 21st. Figueroa (27-0-1, 19 KOs), now working under the guidance of trainer Joel Diaz (best known for his work with Timothy Bradley), is coming off a stoppage win over Robert Guerrero last July. That marked his first fight back after a year-and-a-half-long hiatus from the sport.

Meanwhile Broner (33-3, 24 KOs) is most recently coming off a unanimous decision loss to Mikey Garcia last July. He’ll look to get his career back on track, but with Broner, you just never know what to expect.

Stylistically I think this fight has the potential to end up more like Broner’s fight against Antonio DeMarco than the one against Marcos Maidana, but Figueroa is obviously working hard to make sure that doesn’t happen. Then again, this fight just might just end up being something in between, like his close fight with Adrian Granados. Again, with Broner you just never know.

So you tell me, fans, how do you expect Broner-Figueroa to play out?
