Sergiy Derevyanchenko (11-0, 9 KOs), a middleweight title contender, has just officially been added to the March 3rd Showtime card headlined by heavyweights Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz. ESPN reports that Derevyanchenko will still be taking on Dashon Johnson (22-22-3, 7 KOs) in a scheduled 8-rounder.

Derevyanchenko had previously been scheduled to face Johnson last month on the Spence-Peterson undercard, but the fight had to be pushed back when the Ukrainian fighter fell sick a week before the bout.

This fight will be Derevyanchenko’s first since stopping the rugged Tureano Johnson last summer.

Johnson, who has a sub-.500 professional record, is coming off two straight losses to Peter Quillin and Aaron Coley last year. And needless to say, this is likely shaping up to be a squash-match.

This Wilder-Ortiz card is currently scheduled to have three fights on the televised portion of this Showtime card (including Jermall Charlo-Hugo Centeno Jr. and Andre Dirrell-Jose Uzcategui) with the remaining fights to take place off-air.
