Tonight at 9 pm ET on ESPN, the vacant WBO lightweight title will be on the line when Ray Beltran faces Paulus Moses in the main event from Reno, Nevada.
Beltran (34-7-1, 21 KO) is going for this belt for the fourth time in his career, and it could be his last shot, too, as he’s 36 and not getting any younger. Moses (40-3, 25 KO) is a veteran fighter from Namibia, a former WBA titleholder probably most famous for losses to Miguel Acosta and Ricky Burns.
The co-feature is an intriguing and potentially very exciting welterweight clash between prospect Egidijus Kavaliauskas (18-0, 15 KO) and veteran David Avanesyan (23-2-1, 11 KO), with the NABF belt, held by Kavaliauskas, on the line.
Top American featherweight prospect Shakur Stevenson (4-0, 2 KO) will also be in action, facing Juan Tapia (8-1, 3 KO) in an eight-round fight.
Wil Esco will be here with round-by-round coverage for the fights, so join us this evening for a Friday night world title event!

ROUND BY ROUND
RAY BELTRAN vs. PAULUS MOSES
Round 1: Moses comes out first with the jab as Beltran walks him back to the ropes. Beltran applying a lot of pressure early, walking right in on Moses. Counter right hand lands over the top for Beltran. Now another right hand lands for Beltran, followed by two left hooks. Now Beltran goes downstairs with a left hook and Moses is standing right in Beltran's wheelhouse. Not a good sign for him. Another hard left hook to the body lands for Beltran. Not a good start for Moses. Beltran 10-9.
Round 2: Beltran comes out stalking Moses right away and Moses is trying to fight Beltran off of him. Moses tries to attack the head and body but can't land much cleanly. Beltran picks a sport for an uppercut on the inside and then finds an opening for an overhand right. Another left hook digs the body for Beltran. Now Moses lands an uppercut and two more shots which gets Beltran to retaliate. Better round for Moses but I still think Beltran takes it. Beltran 10-9, 20-18.
Round 3: Beltran is finding a home for that left hook to the body over and over. Beltran slips a punch and just misses on the counter opportunity. Beltran trading shots with Moses now but Beltran is landing with much more power. You can literally hear Beltran's punches land with thudding power. Moses lands a number of jabs and is finding his range with that punch a little better. Beltran is bleeding over his left eye. Moses 10-9.
Round 4: Beltran comes out looking for that left hook once again. Now he tries an overhand right that Moses is able to catch. Yet another left hook lands for Beltran on the inside. Moses lands a short left uppercut on the inside. Beltran stuns Moses with a left hand but Moses is able to hold on! Beltran 10-9, 39-37.
Round 5: Moses also has a small cut over his left eye. Left hook upstairs partially lands for Beltran, who then stuns Moses with a hard counter right. Moses stumbles momentarily but composes himself along the ropes. Beltran digs down to the body again with a left hook and two left hooks upstairs! Moses stands in and tries an overhand right that just misses. Another hard left hook to the body lands for Beltran. That punch should pay dividends as this fight wears on. Beltran is starting to look a mess though, bleeding from his mouth and eye. Beltran 10-9.
Round 6: Moses comes out with a long jab and now Beltran tries to bait him into throwing it so he can counter with his right hand. Moses sticks in a stiff jab and is giving Beltran a few problems with his style. Beltran looks like he's bleeding over both eyes now as Moses lands a sharp left. Two shots land for Moses. Beltran is a bloody mess. Moses 10-9, 47-48.
Round 7: Two hard shots land for Moses to start the round! Beltran lands a chopping right on the inside. Beltran digs down with a left to the body again and the fighters get tied up. The fighters exchanging shots at center ring and Moses just barely misses on a homerun right hand. Moses keeping a decent pace and picking some good spots to score against Beltran. Another hard right hand lands for Moses! Moses 10-9.
Round 8: Beltran's face is looking seriously worn. Beltran still presses forward but Moses has had increasing success with his jab and straight right. Beltran lands the left hook to the body once again. Beltran catches Moses with a counter jab now. Close round, I think Moses just edges the round. Moses 10-9, 76-76.
Round 9: Beltran comes out with a purpose to start this round, trying to change the momentum in this fight. Hard right hand stuns Beltran and his knees buckle! Moses is getting more ambitious now and tries to follow up his attack. Beltran survives the moment and lands a hard left hand to the body, followed by a right to the body. Beltran coming back now and pushes Moses back with a couple jabs. And now Moses returns the favor. Sneaky left lands for Moses. Another close one but Moses landed the most damaging punch of the round. Moses 10-9.
Round 10: Beltran comes out with an all out attack, trying to make a stand right here, right now! Moses tries to establish the range again with his jab, but Beltran is intent on making this a firefight. Beltran lands a right hook after a jab and is trying to pour it on Moses. More hard shots land for Beltran and he's starting to punish Moses. Beltran 10-9, 95-95.
Round 11: Beltran comes out matching Moses' jab and presses forward behind some power shots. Moses tries to reestablish his left jab but Beltran is able to move his head off center and tries to hook on both sides upstairs. Uppercut lands for Moses, Beltran throws four punches in return. Beltran really showing his desire here, this hasn't been an easy fight but you can see him digging deep in these championship rounds. Beltran got blood in his eye which is hampering his vision. Nice right uppercut to the body land for Beltran. Beltran is looking a goddamn mess with all the blood on his face. I still think he takes this round though. Beltran 10-9.
Round 12: Last round of a really competitive fight! Both fighters exchange at center ring, knowing this round could likely make the difference. Beltran throwing combinations and Moses comes back with more straight jabs a right hands. Both fighters are tires and deservedly so, this has been a hard-fought battle. Beltran hammers away to the head and body while Moses tries to take a quick breather. Beltran going on the attack again with 30 second left but can't land too clean. Beltran tries one more flurry to end the fight. Beltran 10-9. I've got Beltran gutting out a tough fight, 115-113.
EGIDIJUS KAVALIAUSKAS vs DAVID AVANESYAN
Round 1: Avanesyan comes out moving laterally and trying to find angles. Kavaliaukas throws a hard jab to the pit of Avanesyan's stomach. Hard combination lands for Kavaliaukas. Kavaliaukas flashes some good timing as he counters Avanesyan with a two punches. Not much of significance in the first round but I think Kavaliaukas' punches landed harder. Kavaliaukas 10-9.
Round 2: Hard jab to the body from Kavaliaukas knocks Avanesyan back a full step. Two hard counter shots partially land for Kavaliaukas. Counter left hook catches Avanesyan as he steps forward. Kavaliaukas is clearly landing with more thudding power, he sort of has this Gennady Golovkin jab. Two more hard punches land for Kavaliaukas and I don't think Avanesyan is going to withstand this over the long haul. Kavaliaukas 10-9, 20-18.
Round 3: Kavaliaukas comes out pumping some more jabs and offsetting Avanesyan's rhythm. You could almost hear a pin drop it's so quiet in the arena. Avanesyan gets in a jab of his own but it only serves to have Kavaliaukas chase Avanesyan around the ring. Kavaliaukas 10-9.
Round 4: More hard jabs land for Kavaliaukas at center ring. Now Kavaliaukas tries to line up a big right hook that Avanesyan is able to partially block. Avanesyan has switched to a southpaw stance and lands a couple shots. Now he goes back to the orthodox stance and walks into a Kavaliaukas left hook. Kavaliaukas pokes Avanesyan with a jabs upstairs and downstairs and takes the round. Kavaliaukas 10-9, 40-36.
Round 5: Kavaliaukas prodding with his jab and he's moving Avanesyan around the ring with it. Avanesyan gets in a jab of his own but it doesn't seem to have the same effect on Kavaliaukas. Avanesyan able to catch Kavaliaukas with a couple of sneaky shots and then touches him again with a combination in close. Better round for Avanesyan, I'm putting him on the board. Avanesyan 10-9.
Round 6: Kavaliaukas once again comes out with his strong jabs, forcing Avanesyan back. Hard right hook partially lands for Kavaliaukas. Hard overhand right hurts Avanesyan who is stumbling around the ring! Kavaliaukas pours it on and forces the referee to step in and stop the fight! Kavaliaukas TKO-6.
