HBO SuperFly II, Smith-Brähmer, more: Boxing fight times and TV schedule for February 22-24

HBO’s SuperFly II and the World Boxing Super Series headline this week in boxing.

Thursday, February 22

ESPN2, 11:30 pm ET, Joseph Diaz Jr vs Victor Terrazas. A decent main event for a Thursday night Golden Boy show. Diaz is a rising contender in the featherweight division, and Terrazas is a former titleholder at 122, though past his prime now. It’s not the worst stay-busy fight you’ll see or anything. Several Golden Boy prospects are also in action on the card. BLH will have live coverage.

Friday, February 23

Telemundo, 11:35 pm ET, Jonathan Gonzalez vs Ricardo Rodriguez. Prospects Antonio Vargas and Jeyvier Cintron are also scheduled to fight.

Saturday, February 24

ITV Box Office (UK), 2:00 pm ET, Callum Smith vs Jürgen Brähmer. The main event itself should start around 5 pm ET. The winner moves on to the World Boxing Super Series final to face George Groves. Smith is the younger, taller man here, but Brähmer is a crafty fighter and has home field in Germany. BLH will have live coverage.

HBO, 9:30 pm ET, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai vs Juan Francisco Estrada, Carlos Cuadras vs McWilliams Arroyo, Donnie Nietes vs Juan Carlos Reveco. “Superfly II” is another terrific card on paper, with a great main event and strong supporting fights, and the addition of Nietes-Reveco in the flyweight division is particularly helpful, as that’s a legit fight between two top ranked boxers at 112. Srisaket-Estrada has terrific potential. Everyone get excited! BLH will have live coverage.
