George Groves earned a spot in the World Boxing Super Series super middleweight tournament final with his win on Saturday over Chris Eubank Jr, but there is concern that a shoulder injury suffered in the final round could keep him out of the fight.

Trainer Shane McGuigan tells Sky Sports that “it’s a massive concern for the tournament,” and that Groves told him it felt like a dislocation of the shoulder.

Promoter Kalle Sauerland, one of the men behind the tournament, said that Eubank could fill in for Groves if Groves can’t make the final.

“We have scope of when the tournament must be completed. We will wait until Monday. With those sort of injuries, you can train very quickly again -- if it’s a case of it just popping out. No one knows until it has been scanned. ... [Eubank] will definitely be on the list. It’s a decision that’s taken by the board. I will make my recommendations.”

Groves (28-3, 20 KO) won on points on Saturday, surviving a strong final round surge from Eubank (26-2, 20 KO), who fell behind early in the fight.
