Kell Brook (36-2, 25 KOs) is slated to make his junior middleweight debut in a couple of weeks when he takes on Sergey Rabchenko at Sheffield Arena. But when Brook was asked by The Star about what would he rather have — a fight with domestic rival Amir Khan or another shot at a world title — Brook picked Khan.
“I think I have to say, right now, it would be Khan. That would be the more exciting of the two.”
“Also, it’s probably easier winning a world title than it is to get him to sign a contract!”
Brook followed up by saying that the longstanding feud between Khan and himself would give him a bigger buzz than being world champion if he were finally able to land that fight, and that the time is now since they’re not getting any younger.
The Sheffield fighter also made it known that he plans to show up to Khan’s comeback fight against Phil Lo Greco on April 21 in Liverpool. And while he didn’t explicitly state it, one can reasonably predict Brook to call Khan out in person, in front of all the fans and television cameras.
