We’re good to go for tomorrow’s other World Boxing Super Series’ semifinals in the super middleweight division.

Late replacement Nieky Holzken (13-0, 10 KOs), who is filling in for Juergen Braehmer, came to the scale first and weighed-in at 167.6lbs, right under the super middleweight limit of 168lbs. He looked primed and ready for war.

Callum Smith (23-0, 17 KOs) was up next and he too weighed-in at 167.6lbs. He was a little more animated than Holzken, but also was clearly pumped for tomorrow’s action.

In the post weigh-in interview Holzken shared these thoughts on the fight:

“Just made weight and now it’s time to shine.”

Holzken on if making weight was problematic due to being a late substitution:

“No, I was already on weight because I [had] a fight coming up with the other guy, Chudinov...I’m ready to step in, I was only one kilo over yesterday so it was very easy for me.”

Callum Smith, meanwhile, had this to say about taking on a last minute replacement:

“I knew I was fighting Saturday night regardless of who’s in the opposite corner and...I should be good enough to adapt to any style and any opponent.”
