Tomorrow night on ESPN we’ll see two junior welterweight contenders, Jose Ramirez (21-0, 16 KOs) and Amir Imam (21-1, 18 KOs) square off for the vacant WBC title. The two held their final press conference yesterday which also featured legendary (or infamous) promoters Bob Arum and Don King working together once again.
Imam, 27, will be entering this fight riding three straight knockout wins since his first professional loss to Adrian Granados in late 2015. And in this fight he’ll be getting first shot at a world title.
Meanwhile his opponent, Ramirez, 25, has never been beaten as is most recently coming off a knockout win over Mike Reed last November.
