Wilder-Ortiz: Official Weigh-In (Live at 2:30pm ET)

Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz hit the scale today at Barclays Center’s Practice Court.

With most of the pre-fight banter over and done with, WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and challenger Luis Ortiz will step on the scale today in Brooklyn. You can catch the live stream right here on BLH starting at 2:30pm ET, courtesy of Showtime Sports.

In this fight Deontay Wilder (39-0, 38 KOs) is expected to face the first stiff challenge in his career, nearly 40 fights in. Ortiz (28-0, 24 KOs), however, is something of an unknown quantity at this point in his career. He’s 38-years-old and hasn’t had a truly impressive performance against a credible opponent since perhaps Bryant Jennings over two years ago. That said, Ortiz is still probably more dangerous than anyone Wilder has taken on thus far.

With a win here Wilder will continue chasing a big heavyweight unification fight with Anthony Joshua, which will probably be ‘martinated’ for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile Ortiz will be looking to upset the apple cart by staking his own claim in the heavyweight division.

We’ll see how things shake out tomorrow night on Showtime.
