Trainer on Anthony Joshua: ‘There’s definite holes for us to expose’

Kevin Barry talks about the style match-up for Joseph Parker against Anthony Joshua.

Wil Esco is an assistant editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2014.

Joseph Parker and his trainer Kevin Barry took some time to talk to Fight Hub TV about their upcoming clash with Anthony Joshua on March 31st, and how they view the style match-up.

Barry on how he views this fight:

“I think this is a real fan’s fight. I think it’s a great style match-up. We have always preferred guys that come forward and come onto Joe.” [Editor’s Note: Pause!]. “Joe always likes fighting tall guys...So for us we think this is a pretty good style.

“You know, Joshua’s a little bit robotic, he lunges with his punches, not the fastest guy around, does a few things with his hands...There’s definite holes for us to expose openings. But, you know, it’s far easier said than done. You’ve got to be able to put it all together on the night but we have a very good game plan, we’re both totally in tune with it. We both are very, very confident in this fight. There’s no doubt in our minds that we can’t go out there and shock the world in this fight.

“There’s gonna be a lot of explosion.” [Editor’s Note: Big Pause!]

[Final Note: I’m just kidding with all the ‘pause’ stuff. If I can’t have a little fun doing this then, well, what’s the point?! I enjoy this gig but it isn’t making me a wealthy man.]
