Joshua-Parker: Final Press Conference

Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker held their final presser before their unification bout this Saturday.

For those who were unable to catch it, Matchroom Boxing streamed the full final press conference for Anthony Joshua vs. Joseph Parker, set to take place this Saturday in Cardiff. In the fight Joshua will be putting his IBF and WBA world titles on the line while Parker puts up his WBO heavyweight title.

The winner of this fight will hold three of the four major world titles, with Deontay Wilder holding the final WBC belt.

Joseph Parker came into this final press conference disguised as Clark Kent, but he certainly couldn’t fool me with those nerd glasses.

“We’ve had a tremendous camp,” Parker stated. “We’ve had some great sparring sessions, had a lot of pain but we enjoyed it. We loved it. We embraced it. I’m looking forward to putting on the best display...the best Joseph Parker there is...I’m taking those belts back to New Zealand.”

A stoic Anthony Joshua would speak soon thereafter, offering these thoughts before the fight:

“The fear of losing is that unless I take care of my business, no one is gonna want to interview me anyway...I just know how the tables can turn quickly. One minute you’re the man and the next minute you’re not.”
