Anthony Joshua demonstrates technical improvements he’s been working on

Joshua says it’s the little things that make the big differences.

Wil Esco is an assistant editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2014.

In this video interview with FightHub TV, heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua talks about the things he’s been specifically working on to improve his technique and why it’ll make a big difference.

“The right hand will take you around the block, the jab will take you around the world. So you have to perfect the jab and perfect boxing in range. Imagine we’re boxing, we can be boxing [on the outside] trying to hit each other without getting hit. But you got to learn to get in range, defend the shots that are coming at you, to be able to get your shots off.

“So perfecting these little things...I’m not a coach but I’m just giving you what I’ve been taught. But it’s the small things that make a massive difference.

“Head space is what you have to deal with day-to-day, family issues, sometimes relationship issues, and so on and so forth. My coach isn’t interested in that. He just teaches me like the fundamentals of boxing.”
