Former Marine Mark DeLuca’s boxing tour continues on ESPN2 when he faces Michael Moore at the end of the month. The fight will headline a Golden Boy show from Quincy, Mass.
DeLuca (20-0, 12 KO) is 30 years old, meaning he really should be fighting live bodies by now. Alas, he’s instead facing Moore (15-1, 7 KO), who’s beaten just four men with winning records.
In the co-feature, middleweight prospect Jason Quigley (13-0, 10 KO), out of action since a rough fight with the husk of Glen Tapia last March, looks to get back on track against Daniel Rosario Cruz (11-3, 10 KO). Quigley will be the rightful favorite, but it’s worth noting that Cruz’s three losses were all either majority or split decisions.
Yamaguchi Falcao (14-0, 7 KO) will appear as well.
Fun fact: I went back to check whether DeLuca has appeared on this site before. As it turns out, he has: on an FS1 card he shared with Quigley. Note that, 3.5 years later, we still don’t know whether DeLuca is or isn’t a real prospect.
