Golovkin: Canelo’s not sorry, he’s terrible man!

Gennady Golovkin doesn’t believe Canelo Alvarez’s public apology.

With the precarious situation Gennady Golovkin has found himself in, wanting to his May 5th fight date with no replacement opponent set, he decided to hold an impromptu press conference to address the public directly.

When Golovkin was asked if he had any concerns about possibly never getting another fight against Canelo, Golovkin responded by saying:

“Maybe...Canelo, of course like everbody said, he’s huge Mexican star. Last press conference he said ‘I can’t, I’m sorry, I apologize, it’s my fault.’ This is crazy, you know, this is crazy for people. He’s not sorry, no. He’s not like huge ambassador for boxing. He’s terrible man!”

Then when following up on that question to ask if it’s not pressure he’s feeling to get that rematch Golovkin interrupts:

“I feel very comfortable. Just why you ask me? Just I feel very comfortable. I look like that, you know, like an old man?...Remember last time he said ‘sorry, I’m sorry, it’s my fault’?! Like come on, get out of here!”
