Featherweights Carl Frampton and Nonito Donaire made weight today in Belfast, setting their Saturday fight for the interim WBO title in stone.
Frampton (24-1, 14 KO) and Donaire (38-4, 24 KO) both came in under the 126-pound limit, with Frampton at 125¼ and Donaire at 125½.
The winner will be in line for a shot at full WBO titleholder Oscar Valdez, who last fought on March 10, beating Scott Quigg by decision. A fight with Valdez could easily happen by the end of this year for the winner, and would be a big and attractive option for both sides, without question.
The fight will air in the United States through Showtime, streaming the bout on their YouTube and Facebook pages, showing a simulcast of the BT Sport/BoxNation broadcast from the United Kingdom.
The stream will start live at 5:15 pm ET, and BLH will have live round-by-round coverage and the stream itself.
