Jarrett Hurd practices cutting off the ring ahead of Erislandy Lara clash

Watch Hurd as he puts the finishing touches on his training camp.

As IBF junior middleweight titleholder Jarrett Hurd winds down his training camp before he unifies titles with WBA champ Erislandy Lara this weekend on Showtime, he shows off his current form and game plan.

In this video caught by our friends at Fight Hub TV, Hurd shows some sharp reflexes and his intentions of cutting off the ring on Lara in order to keep the fight at close quarters. Credit to Hurd for knowing exactly what he’ll need to do in this fight, because his chances of winning are really predicated on on his success of keeping Lara in front of him.

If Lara is able to successfully box at range, he’ll like outpoint Hurd to take a decision. However if Hurd is able to successfully keep Lara right in his wheelhouse and apply the pressure, he just might wear down and break Lara. That’s what makes this a compelling style match-up.
